Welcome to “Behind the Square” stories!

Here we want to share our energy and accomplishments with our friends and partners.

In this first edition, we tell you the stories of these first thrilling months at The Square.

The Square doesn´t wait for things to happen. Our DNA is all about fighting to make dreams come true and to celebrate and value each achievement. And it was with this spirit, a smile on the face and willing to win, that…

Behind The Square #6

At the beginning of the year, we did a reflection on the challenges and achievements of 2018, and we also defined the objectives to be achieved in 2019. We believe that we are in the right direction, always with the same commitment and professionalism that brought us here. In 2019, we embraced new challenges, welcomed new team members, and were an active part in many events. Two examples were Talkdesk’s launch of its innovation laboratory in Coimbra - The TDX, and the first Portugal Financial Forum, an event supported by ActivTrades, in which we promoted discussions on the challenges faced by the global economy.

We promoted the circular economy…

We launched "Baby Loop", a platform created by Carolina Patrocínio together with Book in Loop. This platform allows its users to give a new life to used childcare products that parents have in their houses.  The concept allows savings and has an important component of social responsibility.

In the last three months of 2018, we have not slowed down. The return of vacations brought new challenges in health, technology, financial markets and marketing, amongst others. In addition, we ended the year by challenging the communication ninjas to join us… The Square continues to grow, and we are actively looking for new members to join the TS family.

And... We don´t stop. New chapters have been open, some were desired, others unexpected and some by recommendation of someone: The truth is that, when someone recommends The square, we feel that we are in the right direction.  In this Behind The Square #3 we will share some of the best steps that we gave in the last few months. However, we are convinced that there is a long way to go.

Everything started last Summer. The “bug” for entrepreneurship was asleep, but it finally woke up. Since the very beginning, we wanted a simple office where we could do things well and with a lot of passion.

In November, we got out of The Square to visit the Web Summit…

Entrepreneurial spirit and resilience to walk the path of stones are part of our DNA. So, we couldn’t miss the biggest conference on technology and entrepreneurship in the world.

As we didn’t have the chance to take part in the meetings, we decided to stand out in a more creative way: we took The Square to the Web Summit. We took advantage of our PR capacities and showed to global startups and big companies what we do best: placing great companies and ideas on the most relevant media outlets.

We took a poster – bigger than us –and photographed 60 participants from several countries. We raise 60 news “squares” (i.e. visit cards) and schedule 10 meetings: mission accomplished.

And days after, the Creativity Day was celebrated.

On November 17th, we put UppOut on Marketeer to comment the future of creativity through the eyes of the creative Ricardo Paiágua.
